Updated Wireless CHART Web - Added August 2002
Modified wireless CHART website to include Lane Closures and Message Signs. New navigation by county, road or device type. Available on any Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) enabled device. Simply type in http://www.chart.state.md.us
2 New Video Tours - Added July 2002
Added streaming video tours for US 50 and I-95/495 - Prince Georges county. The US 50 tour includes cameras at the following locations: US 50 / St. Margarets Rd., US 50 / MD 2, US 50 / MD exit 23 and US 50 / I-97. The I-95/495 Prince Georges county tour includes cameras at: I-495 / US 50, I-495 / Arena Dr., I-495 / MD 214, and I-495 / MD 4.
The tours are available from the Interactive Mapping and Camera Section.
Lane Closures - Added May 2002
Added Planned and Active lane closures along Maryland state highways in
list format and in our
Interactive Mapping Section. Planned
closures are pre-approved work zones displaying when and what lanes will be closed.
Active closures display current work zones with travel lanes temporarily shut down.
Message Signs - Added April 2002
Added CHART overhead highway message signs in list format
and in our Interactive Mapping Section. View
the status and current message on dynamic overhead message signs for updated traveler information.
Completed transition to Interactive Mapping - updated October 2001
Removed link for Legacy Traffic maps, all traffic congestion information will be displayed in the
Interactive Mapping and Local Traveler Information sections.
Incident Reports - Added October 2001
Added text page containing live incident reports updating every 30 seconds containing Incident Type, Location
Direction and Details.
Camera Tours - Added September 2001
Added Camera tours to Interactive Mapping and Camera Section. A camera tour will be a streaming video
feed that incorporates 4 cameras into 1 stream. This instance is the I-83 / I-695 along the Baltimore Beltway
at the I-83 interchange.
Traffic Alert - Added August 2001
Added ability to Alert CHART Web users via a flashing red Traffic Alert link to a text page containing major
incident information and assign specific video feeds to that text message. This function will only be used during
major events. Traffic Alert icon will be removed when incident completed.
Wireless CHART Web - Added August 2001
WAP enabled CHART Website for access via Wireless Access Protocol on any WAP enabled device. Wireless data includes Incidents, Weather, Speed data.
Interactive Mapping - Added July 2001
View live Maryland roadway conditions through our Interactive GIS Mapping Application.
Includes 3 major sections - Traffic, Roadway Weather and Video.
